Basic Information:
Full Name: Anya “Annechka” Naddiya Petranova
Age: 20
Birthday: September 25th
Location: Lived in Moscow, Russia, until she was adopted a few months ago and brought to live in New York with her new family.
Orientation: Straight
Marital Status: Single
Appearance:
Born as a mutt, a mix between a Frenchwoman and a Russian man, she looks more like her mother; but still retains her some of her father’s features. Her hair blonde hair is stringy, but soft, and is kept in such a way that she feels to be aesthetically pleasing to people - especially men. Her skin is pale and a bit coarse, especially in her hands, from constant, tedious handiwork. She has a few scars here and there; but, they’re not as noticeable as they used to be back when she was younger. She’s very short, standing only at a stature of 5’3”, and is extremely petite and emaciated looking. Her eyes are brown and searching, and her smile, when she wears it, is very sweet and tender. She’s always very shrunken in her posture, as if trying to make herself seem smaller than she actually is.
Personality:
Anya is very, very submissive. She’s placid and flexible; but not below being able to speak for herself when she needs to. As a Russian girl, she is strong and stone-faced, and able take pain and discomfort without showing so much as a flinch; but, when she’s alone, she’s entirely afraid and weakened. She’s very good about not being able to speak for her wants when she knows that the other person doesn’t want to hear them, so, in essence, Anya has a very strong shell she keeps herself cloistered in. Anya is very kind hearted and very willing to help when she is able. When she was a child, when she was just learning to walk, she loved helping her mother around the house. The trait carried on into her adulthood, where she aspires to one day be a mother, and perhaps even a doctor.
Anya’s downfall is her temper. She’s very easily offended and angered when the wrong thing is said, or if someone pushes a subject that she doesn’t wish to speak of. This is especially apparent when she’s with strangers, so it’s very hard for her to make friends. She’s more stoic when she finally does make acquaintances, however, and tries her very hardest to not lose her temper.
Being in the situation that she’s in, Anya has a lack of education. She was forced to leave high school in her freshman year to “work”, and so lacks the book smarts that most people of her age should have. She’s a bit of an autodidact; but, self teaching can only get you so far, especially in Communist Russia. Her mother sometimes gave her books to read, and that’s the only place where she excels. She can read at a very high level, but is severely inept when it comes to subjects like math, history, and science. When it comes to English, Anya can speak enough to be understood well enough, but her fluency is far from. She still doesn’t understand some words that people say; but, she strives to learn the language so she can communicate. Being unable to communicate is something that extremely frustrates her.
The only real talent that Anya has is being able to make herself look pretty. She has a knack for singing, but she hardly ever does now, because she no longer enjoys it as she used to when she was a child. It’s a very rare phenomenon to hear her sing, but it’s not an all that unpleasant experience. If she practiced more, she could develop a real talent. She’s not all together spectacular, but she’s a good girl, none-the-less.
Aside from her girlish wiles, she was trained from her early teens to be a prostitute, and it still shows. She doesn’t discriminate with whom she flirts with, and the notion has become a product of compulsion. She prefers older men, since they were the ones that treated her the most kindly while she ‘worked.’ She has a hard time understanding that that isn’t what you do in proper company, so it gives her a bit of social ineptness that she must overcome if she can function in society.
